Calcium Vital Swallow Tablets are specially designed for people who have undergone surgical stomach reduction to meet the additional need for calcium. After a gastric sleeve surgery, your body can absorb less calcium. However, the human body needs a sufficient supply of calcium, as calcium contributes, among other things, to the maintenance of strong bones and teeth and to normal muscle function. The Calcium Vital swallowing tablets contain calcium citrate, as this form of calcium can be easily absorbed by the body. In addition, vitamin D3 has been added to the Calcium Chew swallowing tablets, as it increases the calcium absorption of the bones and also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.
Important: The WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) supplements from ELAN (Compass, Believe, Supreme) do not contain calcium, as calcium inhibits the absorption of iron.
What are the consequences of gastric sleeve surgery?
As a result of gastric sleeve surgery, you can eat less and your body can absorb fewer nutrients. The surgery is the beginning of a new life and a step towards a healthier lifestyle. Without additional supplements, your body won’t get enough nutrients to keep you fit. The Calcium Vital swallowing tablets ensure that you receive the necessary amount of calcium in the right dosage every day.
What is the recommended dosage and the correct time to take the Calcium Vital swallowing tablets?
Take 1 to 4 Calcium Vital swallowing tablets per day, preferably between meals or in the evening. Take the tablets with plenty of water. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
The amount of calcium you need depends on your surgery. Based on the internationally valid guidelines of the scientific societies (ASMBS and IFSO), we recommend a daily intake of at least 1,200 – 1,500 mg. It is important that you consume up to 500 mg of calcium at a time, so that you also give your body the opportunity and time to absorb the absorbed calcium. For optimal advice after your surgery, we recommend that you contact your doctor or therapist.

Important: If you also use ELAN’s iron-containing Compass, Believe, or Supreme products, take them at a different time than your Calcium Vital swallowing tablets, as calcium inhibits the absorption of iron. You should wait at least 2 hours between taking the iron-containing Compass, Believe or Supreme products and the Calcium Vital swallowing tablets so that your body has enough time to properly absorb the iron contained in the Compass, Believe or Supreme products.
How should the Calcium Vital oral tablets be stored?
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of small children. This dietary supplement is not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
